Center on Wage and Employment Dynamics

Measured the effects of state/local minimum wage on workers’ health.

Role: Data Scientist

Tools: Stata, R, SQL

Data

BRFSS is the database we drew our information from.

Overview

I worked with the a post-doc and economics professor to measure the effects of minimum wage policies on worker health and other outcomes, utilizing the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) questionnaires. Using this report as a starting point, I helped to process 5 datasets after cleaning and reshaping 10 different linear model regressions to compare and contrast these different effects. This includes working with basic econometrics and statistics.

As the research report is still being developed, more information will provided when the final report is released.
